Oh Sn@p!

I had to do an entire post for this amazing new line by SImple Stories Sn@p! Life. I think it is one of the funnest, most versatile, and most affordable lines out there right now.

It is perfect for Project life and believe me this line ALMOST makes me want to start up PL again after quitting back in May. Everything about it is fun and happy.

I created a few Layouts with it and a couple of cards. I found they came together so fast and easy, I literally created 4 of these pages in less than an hour. Love. Love. Love. If you want to score some of this happiness for own greedy crafty self Treasured Memories has the whole Shebang!

Would love to see links to other awesome projects made with this super awesome line! Have a super happy, colorful kind of day.

I'm a sucker

Well my friend and AVID blogger Lisa has asked me to participate in this Q&A sorta thang, so here goes nothin....

1. Favourite colour: Hands down turquoise

2. Favourite song: Right now the song repeatedly played on my itunes is Ho Hey by The Lumineers
Favorite Band: City and Colour/Matchbox 20
Favorite Artist: Jack Johnson & Pink (I have a hard time narrowing stuff down to just one)

3. Favourite Book (or magazine, if you're not a book-reader: I read a shitload of books all the time, again hard to narrow it down to just one. Anything by Augusten Burroughs he is amazingly funny and I can relate to so many of his memoirs and messed up life even though he is an alcoholic gay guy, but hey don't judge.
4. Favourite Blog: http://ashleyannphotography.com/blog/ This lady touches my life, I have never met her, but have followed her journey of adoption (no I sure as hell do not want to adopt), she is crafty, has the most amazing little family and her photography rocks. Highly recommended.

5. What are you most looking forward to this season? That moment when all the presents are wrapped, and you sit back with your mochocholatteyaya or whatever yummy drink you happen to be sippin on admiring the tree, listening to Christmas carols and enjoy the peace and tranquility. That is until either my husband or kids request some ridiculous thing of me, like finding the keys that are right in front of his face, or cleaning up an entire jug of milk that was just spilled all over the table.

What a Card!

In our society we are encouraged to buy whatever products we can afford and then throw them out as soon as the newest, and hottest thing comes on to the market. I am guilty for falling into this trap as well, especially when it comes to scrapbooking products. They make me happy, and I ALWAYS have really great intentions of using them up, but let's be real I end up hoarding my favorites and then they lose their awesomeness just a little and never get used.
I have been saying this to myself a lot lately. Use it up, Wear it out, Make it do or do without! So in all areas of my life, my fridge, my pantry, my clothes, my kids clothes, cleaning products, shampoos & conditioners, all that stuff that we continuously buy more of even though we may not truly need it.
So I have been trying to use up my current stash of products that normally would be given to my 8 yr old, or a friend, or maybe even the garbage. I have been making a ton of cards this week with old leftover from my Studio Calico kits. It's amazing what some little scraps can make.

I encourage you to do the same, use your product! Just because it isn't the latest and greatest doesn't mean it isn't beautiful. Use it up. Itfeels great!

Sweet Summertime

Yay it is summer! Loving the weather, even the crazy hot 34 degrees kind. And no I do not have air conditioning. Summer means so many awesome things to me, here is a top ten list: 1. Thunderstorms (the kind that don't turn into tonados and tear down my house) 2. The sound of my kids playing in the backyard, getting wet, blowing bubbles 3. Loads of vitamin D from hanging out in the sun 4. Home-ade Popsicles (lemonade and ice tea are my faves) 5. Paddle boat rides 6. Sleeping in 7. Pedicures (I have been training Tayla to take over this responsibility) 8. Beach days, the smell of sunscreen, cooler packed full of fresh fruit, divine 9. Air conditioned rides in the car 10. Flip flops I have been somehow, miraculously finding time to scrapbook... lots of scrap dates with my ladies lately :)Here are a bunch of my latest pages mostly made from Studio Calico Kits and goodies from Treasured Memories
I also chopped my hair, and am loving the freedom of no ponytails. Last night I did a spontaneous mini photo shoot with my best friend in the whole wide world, and her husband who does not in particular like having his picture taken. She is so gorgeous, this girl doesn't take a bad photo. Here are a couple of my favorites... I wish I didn't have a job that took so much of time, I would love to actually learn how to use my camera and take a few classes, and one day maybe even become a real photographer. Oh to dream...
Happy Summer!!

Instagram, Cameo & a Giveaway! Oh My!

I have re-kindled my love with Instagram not that it ever died out, but I was a complete idiot and switched from being an Iphone user to an Android user about a year ago and I lost my Instagram app with that choice. I was beyond pumped when they made it available to Android users a couple of months ago and I have been snapping away, capturing super cool everyday moments. BEST APP EVER. Hands down. Here are some of my favorite shots....
And Now that you made it through all those I want to show you what I have been making with my new best friend....the Silhouette Cameo (finally got the spelling down). Ray my super immature husband has nicknamed this machine camel-toe, yes he really is 46. A picture for Tay's wall, just a cheap dollar store scrapbook frame with my favorite Jack Johnson Lyrics that remind me of Tay.
And one for River's room
and some Layouts I made with the amazing Studio Calico May kit 35 mm. Can't wait to really tear into it! This Cameo business has really stepped up my titles a notch, oh the freedom to never run out of e's or r's!
Random Happy Mail today that put a smile on my face
And now for the good part! The goods!
My awesome friend Sheri was the one that sold me her Cameo (aka.camel-toe)She quit scrapbooking recently (sounds of horror) So with it came a ginormous amount of goodies that she hadn't even told me about! I am talking ALOT of goodies. I just did a big purge so was pretty choosy on the stuff I kept and thought it would be a sweet idea to do a giveaway with the rest. So thank you Sheri and all this stuff is for one lucky winner (there is enough paper to cover your kitchen walls). All you have to do to be entered to win is tell me which Instagram picture I posted is your favorite. I will draw the person with the horseshoe up their butt on Sunday! Thanks for stopping by, you kinda rock!

My happy place

I am drooling over some of the spaces I saw on the Studio Calico Forum today so it inspired me to take some decent pics of my scrappy space tonight. I have come along way from having one of those rolling rubbermaid containers with 6 drawers in the closet. Ha! Hope you enjoy and maybe get some good ideas for your space.

I was thrilled to score these giant scissors at HomeSense awhile back.

This used to be a button display rack at a Fabric Store that closed down, I got it for FREE!!!

I believe this shelf thingy was a decorative plate display, I got it at a garage sale for 2.00 ;)

This hot pink Bird cage is perfect for small scraps of ribbon to hang off of and all my washi tape is hung by binder clips to be at my finger tips.

My Cricut Station (hoping to trade it in for a Cameo soon ;)

IKEA Expedit shevles, these are the greatest thing if you want to be organized. I have 7 in my house.lol.
