Halloween Decorations Cheap and Easy!

<
So I convinced my business partner Billy to have a Halloween Spooktacular at his place Saturday, I was in charge of games and decorations. Although I kinda dropped the ball on both, seeing as I was so crazy with the print deadline this month. However I redeemed myself by taking an old vintage 70's tacky frame and turning it into a HUGE Spooky Sign! Now grab your imagination and picture it with big black tarantula and wispy spider webs!

I also created too really big custom tombstones, but forgot to take pics of them (will post at a later date). SO without further ado here is my sign, which by the way I plan on upcycling into a really cool headboard with the help of some funky IKEA fabric when I am done with it. Happy Halloween everyone! Hope you have a day filled with treats!

Hey all. I have had no time to scrap lately as we had another deadline to meet in the carsgone world. So I have been itching to create...so I grabbed some precious minutes and created this digital Layout for the AD THIS challenge blog. My friend Dawn is on the design team, and I was drawn in by this months ad they chose for inspiration, beautiful! So I just had to play along! Go check it out, and feel free to play along.

My home improvements wishlist.......

These are some things around the house that I have been yearning for lately....

1. Laminate in the kitchen and entryway to match the rest of the main floor.
2. For the surround in the main bath to be finished off with tile (it's only been 3 and a half years)
3. For my super sweet and supportive hubby to allow me to go wild and paint the kitchen (gasp) lime green, or a touch lighter to appease him.
4. A new bedding set for our room and Tayla's
5. paint a couple feature walls throughout the house so that I can put up my wall art (aka. scrapbook the house as per Ray ;)
6. Get new throw cushions for the couch and loveseat in the livingroom
7. New Kitchen Canisters
8. Livingroom area rug
9. burnt out bulbs to be replaced
10. New big boy bed for River
11. Make a super cool new headboard for our bed made from upcycled materials, and get rid of that god awful squeaky nightmare we have been "sleeping" on forever

A girl can dream can't she.....

NOTE: this link may be accidentaly forwarded to my amazing, super duper, handy dandy, caring, and loving husband.

My hero

Just wanted to give thanks for my amazing, super beautiful Grandma. This woman is such an inspiration to me, and has taught me so much in my lifetime. Not only is she super crafty, the world's best cookie maker, and the best spoiler ever, she is also my friend. She is someone who knows me better than I know myself, she knows when I am BS'ing her, she knows when I am sad, and loves me always and unconditionally.

She has overcome so many obstacles in her life, abusive relationships, moving to a different country, substance abuse, being adopted, supporting her children even in dire circumstances. And she rose above it all, she survived and thrived when most people would have given up, and now this amazing lady makes Martha Stewart look bad. She is such a light in my heart, and my life, and she always brightens my day. I just wish we didn't live so far apart, I miss her so much. Might be time for a visit soon ;)jeg elsker deg Bedstemor (I love you Grandma)

Not a digital virgin anymore!!!

Well, I broke, I decided to finally try it out. I am pretty knowledgable when it comes to adobe photoshop, because I use it for work everyday. I am a pretty hardcore traditional scrapper, but I found digitally creating almost as fun and exciting! And way faster without a huge mess to clean up (bonus). Here is a link to some wicked digital kits for FREE!
And here are the two pages I whipped up in 30 minutes!

APOS! Design Team Reveal!

Well it's that time again, and the girls over at A Pile Of Scrap! Never cease to amaze me. For this months goodies, we were given Bo Bunny Calypso Papers, a Prima Stamp, Heidi Swapp Invisible papers, Heidi Swapp mask, and Fancy Pants Rub-ons. The only catch was that we weren`t allowed to create 12x12 LO`s or do altered items. Woah, that was a stretch for a few of us, but it totally made us think outside the box as well. And I think we all came up with some pretty cool projects, Jen made an uber cool Star album, Vicki did some 8.5 x 11 LO`s, Valerie did a fabulous mini, and a gorgeous Canvas, Cori-Lyn did an amazing canvas that would look fabulous in any home! Cheryl did the most gorgeous circle Lo ever! And here is what I came up with..... I have never done a canvas before, so it was kind of a stretch for me, but I can`t wait to do another one, probably with pictures this time.

And I did a fun little mini of our day at the exhibition, With tons of great photos from that day this little mini really packed alot of punch, and allowed for tons of journalling to help tell the story.

And I did 6 cards, I created all these in about an hour. The papers just called to me!
