My {Art}icle

What Art means to me....

To me Art is about letting go, expressing myself in a creative, productive way. It is about telling my story through paper, paint, and magic. It is about learning new things, and experimenting with different mediums. It about finding beauty in everyday life and capturing it to best of my capabilities. It is fulfilling, soul food, that keeps me thriving, loving, and living my life to the fullest, every moment, every page, every canvas, just let go and create something beautiful today, tomorrow, and everyday.

Art seems to me to be a state of soul more than anything else. ~Marc Chagall

Organized Time

Well Ray and I picked up one of those handy dandy Expedit shelves from IKEA for our home office. AS Carsgone grows so does the mount of paper lying on my desk and it was starting to get a tad outta control. According to IKEA's instructions you are supposed to put the shelve together with 2 PEOPLE. But my superwoman powers kicked into high gear and I tackled it myself. I was so please with the final result! Ah organized again, saves me so much time when looking for something. Sweet salvation. Now If I could only convince Ray to let buy 2 of the big ones for my Scrapbook room!

Spiderman, Spiderman....

Well the Macgyver's car show was awesome, lots of really sweet rides rollin that day! My favorite of all them was this crazy rare 1971 Buick Riviera...What a crazy lookin car.

There was face painting (I still have a ring around my tub)and River got his chance at becoming spiderman....

We finally got the carsgone graphics put on our car as well. So now I drive a billboard, lol. But really I am so proud of Ray and I. We have brought Carsgone to a whole new level. We now print 30,000 copies of our publication and have them readily available at over 1650 high traffic locations.

We are an affordable solution for both dealers and private sellers across Canada! Our publication has grown to 40 pages!! and we are on the road to success at quite an amazing speed I might ad. So if you are buying or selling a car check out www.carsgone.com It's FREE for private sellers!

A Pile Of Scrap! Product Challenge!

Well I am super pumped to be one of the first DT members to challenge you talented ladies, and try and get your creative juices flowing. So here it goes.... for the product challenge I chose one product to focus on. We all have oodles of them, break out all that rubber and acrylic goodness and utilize those stamps in an out of the ordinary kinda way.

Whether you are stamping on burlap, cork, creating a stamp collage, or maybe designing a super cool title. (these are just a few of the gazillions of different things you can try, please feel free to use them). Just play, have fun, do something different, and enjoy the process! I Can't wait to see all your creations! Let your imaginations run wild!

Here is the Layout I have done for you....

I created a cool grunge type frame with assorted stamps I had kickin around. It turns around an otherwise super simple layout and gives it a funky look. And the best part? I didn't spend a fortune on making it! Cool and Cheap are two of my favorite "C" words!

Here is another example of fun techniques with stamps.....Stamping with glue.... this is a super simple layout that was made extra special using stamps and glitter!

So come on over and play along, there are lots of other awesome challenges going on over here as well.

Happy Canada Day! Eh!

So a big Happy Canada day to all my fellow toque wearing, maple syrup drizzling, hockey lovin, awesome, Canadian friends out there! We had an eventful day, starting with our business partners coming over for a breakfast meeting at 9:00am. Rob brought his 6 year old Charlie over complete with his pet worm that was really slimy and muddy that I prompty kicked out of my house.

Bill our other business partner completely took over my kitchen and made the most delicious Breakfast sandwiches complete with hollandaise sauce! That man can cook, and he is single if any ladies are interested ;) After our meeting we headed out to my Aunt & Uncles lake lot at Mameo beach and enjoyed a fun filled, relaxing day together.

Rob and Charlie spent the whole day with us as well, and we got some fabulous pictures! My cousins Erin and Cody both have pit bull puppies that the kids absolutely loved! And I must admit I am a bonifide pitbull hater, but these little furballs stole my heart, not that I want one. I mean really how can you resist these faces???

Here is Rob's environment killer...lol. I secretly am a tad jealous.

Here is River enjoying a popsicle in his cool Aviators, eat your heart out Tom Cruise!

and what Canada Day celebration can be complete without totally cheesy hats? Ray and I in all our glory, lol.

And my sweet sunshine girl Tayla, I love this pic...

A sure Sign of summer:

And I will leave you with a few more melt your heart pics:

Hope your day was as happy as ours!

Awww, I love that she has a passion for Art just like her Mama! And her imagination is endless, she is my inspiration and heart.

Here is the final masterpiece....lol. A unicorn and a rainbow....xoxoxoxo
