Get Sketchy Challenge ~From Trash to Treasure!

Well the challenge this week over at Get Sketchy is to make something fabulous out of something you were originally going to throw out. I was going to throw out this Cosmo Cricket ribbon packaging when my creative mind said "hey lady! a 4x6 would fit perfectly in there". So this is what I came up with a wall hanging, ornament thingy! I hung it from my twine and clothespin display that I hang all my cards from, and it added a very festive touch not to mention that little santa girlie is pretty darn cute! Feel free to enter the challenge and go green! You never know what treasure is waiting to be reclaimed!

The frame I did for my Grandparents for Christmas....this was a class I took with my talented friend Dawn...

And a wreath I made from Martha Stewart Wrapping paper.....

The Secret really works!!!

You all are probably wondering how on earth I manage to win all these amazing give-away all the time, and probably think I have a horseshoe inserted somewhere on my body. Well I have won the impossible to win giveaways on Ali Edwards Blog, and I can only think of one reason why? The Secret, it does work, and I live it every day. I know it might sound a little wishy washy to people who don't know about it, or believe in it, but it works. I use it every single day, and it has improved my life and attitude forever.

When I first learned about The Secret, I was gung ho, and wanted to learn everything I could about it. It has been over a year since then and I have probably read 20 more books on using the Law of Attraction, and positive thinking to achieve my dreams, and get what I want in life.

My hubby was very skeptical of my new obsession, then I finally got him to watch the dvd, and explained A few more things to him. I said try it what have you got to lose? It worked , and he was an instant believer. I want everyone to learn about the Secret, and improve there lives. The world is your oyster! What have you got to lose?. Grab an attitude of Gratitude, and watch your dreams come true!

Feeling Festive!

Well now that my print deadline is done and all 30,000 copies of Carsgone are in stands....I can breathe. I celebrated by going to the mall today and spending 100.00 on myself, then went to the library and picked up some little books full of inspiration. I am on strike, and have already informed Ray that we are ordering pizza tonight. I also had Tayla and River sort through a gazillion pounds of laundry and seperate them into piles ;) they loved it! This may be a regular occurence around here. I now need to concentrate on my growing Christmas list, and it is quite large...need to organize, set budgets and shop!! For my own sanity I have decided to create one here.....

Earth Friendly Layout!

Well I finally found a few spare moments to play with the new Nutmeg line by Cosmo Cricket! I really adore this line not only is it vibrant and fun, but it is also super stinkin cute!!! Now I say this is an Earth Friendly Lo because 1. I rececled cardboard from my blue box as the base and 2. because this Paper is made from mixed sources, like recycled wood or fibre. It doesn't get much better than that! I can't wait to share more creations from this line with you! Have a colorful day!

Get Sketchy Challenge

Hey Ladies!

I thought I would play along this time around with the Get Sketchy gals over here Here is what the sketch looked like....

And here is my take on it! You got bonus points for dry embossing, which I dont have a stylus or anything, but I improvised with an acrylic snowflake and rub on applicator.

There are some super talented ladies over there, so go check it out!

Also wanted to leave you with a mini project I did last night while watching the news, I sweetened up one of Tays shirt with some Amy Butler yoyos! I adore how this 5.00 shirt turned out! And the best part, she loves it too, and actually wanted to wear it to school today ;)Have a crafty colorful day!

Some Christmas cards

Vicki over at APOS! challenged us to make cards using other colors besides the traditional green/red. This was right up my alley since I had already purchased the whole Cosmo Cricket Jolly by Golly line, and new stampin up goodies from my friend Dawn.

So I whipped up some cards and was super happy with the way they turned out. The blue snowflake one I created using stencils from the $ store and turquoise glimmer mist! I have tons more xmas cards to create since I give out about 30-40 every year, yikes! Maybe Hallmark isn't such a bad idea, lol.

This one was my fave of the bunch.

My Bucket List

Hey everyone! Well it's challenge time again, and I was chosen to do the all about me challenge this month. I had asked this question for the Question of the day awhile back and it really got me thinking that this would make a great scrapbook page and also be a fabulous reminder of my life goals. So if you still don't know what a bucket list is, or haven't seen the movie yet (fabulous BTW) you can always call it your "Life Goals", Aspirations, etc.

Stop putting your dreams off for "some day" . . . Take inspiration from the movie "The Bucket List" and ask yourself: If I had one year left to live, what would I be sure to do? Create a list of things you want to do before you kick the bucket and start crossing items off your list, today.

APOS! October Design Team Reveal!

OK, so first I would like to confess I did all these projects in less than 3 hours!!! Talk about in the nick of time, lol. Well I always work best under pressure, so I hope you ladies enjoy what I created on a total whim. As you all know by now, the fabulous Alissa allowed us to choose our own goodies to play with, it was a very hard decision, but in the end I chose the AMPLFY line by Sassafrass. I am sure alot of people like the Sass papers but are maybe a little overwhelmed and unsure on how to use such busy papers & Embellishments. So I thought it would be a good choice to play with this month.

Here is a mini made of envelopes, I utilized all the fabulous strips that come on the end of the Sassafrass papers. This is a book of my pet peeeves, fave places to shop, music, foods, etc....I plan on saving tags, recipts, etc to put in the envelopes.

Here is a sign I made as a reminder to take it easy in my hectic life....INspired by the fabulous Anna Nalick

These papers actually surprised me by how much you can do with them, I even contemplated doing a Xmas card, but ran out of time. Go check out what the rest of the DT picked and created, Jen , Vicki , Valerie , Cori-Lyn , Cheryl Have a colorful, vibrant day!!!

Halloween Decorations Cheap and Easy!

<
So I convinced my business partner Billy to have a Halloween Spooktacular at his place Saturday, I was in charge of games and decorations. Although I kinda dropped the ball on both, seeing as I was so crazy with the print deadline this month. However I redeemed myself by taking an old vintage 70's tacky frame and turning it into a HUGE Spooky Sign! Now grab your imagination and picture it with big black tarantula and wispy spider webs!

I also created too really big custom tombstones, but forgot to take pics of them (will post at a later date). SO without further ado here is my sign, which by the way I plan on upcycling into a really cool headboard with the help of some funky IKEA fabric when I am done with it. Happy Halloween everyone! Hope you have a day filled with treats!

My home improvements wishlist.......

These are some things around the house that I have been yearning for lately....

1. Laminate in the kitchen and entryway to match the rest of the main floor.
2. For the surround in the main bath to be finished off with tile (it's only been 3 and a half years)
3. For my super sweet and supportive hubby to allow me to go wild and paint the kitchen (gasp) lime green, or a touch lighter to appease him.
4. A new bedding set for our room and Tayla's
5. paint a couple feature walls throughout the house so that I can put up my wall art (aka. scrapbook the house as per Ray ;)
6. Get new throw cushions for the couch and loveseat in the livingroom
7. New Kitchen Canisters
8. Livingroom area rug
9. burnt out bulbs to be replaced
10. New big boy bed for River
11. Make a super cool new headboard for our bed made from upcycled materials, and get rid of that god awful squeaky nightmare we have been "sleeping" on forever

A girl can dream can't she.....

NOTE: this link may be accidentaly forwarded to my amazing, super duper, handy dandy, caring, and loving husband.
